When the NCR arrived in the Mojave, they offered aid to the poor and misfortunate citizens of Freeside, sending an ambassador to start talks. This drew the ire of the Kings, who saw Freeside as their home. When the NCR arrived in 2281, they brought with them squatters who settled in Freeside. Many of the members are admitted xenophobes they published a smear campaign against the NCR and were known to harass and bully NCR civilians. Afterward, they became the largest gang in Freeside. The Kings were formerly a group of tribals before the New Vegas Treaty. “ There are two types of folk inside Freeside those that have lived here all their lives ( Locals), and those who came in with the NCR (Squatters).
